The June mini-tour continued with an appearance at The Maudslay, Allesley Old Road. This gig saw the unveiling of our new Some Great Reward banner. Another brainwave of our drummer/promoter, it displays our name and website in a very colourful beige and brown. There were several people there that we knew making their debut visit to see us and I hope they enjoyed it (the gig not the banner). After the gig, there was an impromptu rendition of Chas & Dave’s There Ain’t No Pleasing You (not by the band, but the song is a guilty pleasure of a few of us and I would’ve joined in had I been drinking heavily all evening instead of playing).
At the Rose & Crown gig we debuted The Eton Rifles following several requests for a Jam song in the set. Also, I apologise for giving some people the impression that we were about to play a Stiff Little Fingers song before we played Blitzkrieg Bop – what were the chances of there being more than one SLF fan in the room? (And I include myself there). The gig was very enjoyable and there was some excellent and energetic dance moves on show from people who put the younger generation to shame. A warm, sweaty night was had by all.
As always, a big thank you to everyone who makes the effort to come and see us.
Cheers
Nathan
